The same rules

I’m appalled by the vote to send another billion dollars to Israel, this time for the Iron Dome. I can’t help but think of the Iron Throne in Game of Thrones, symbol of violent conquest and tyranny. Israel has as much to do with democracy as the Lannisters do with justice. Could it be reborn as Tyrion, its true democratic self, if the U.S., which created the unjust partition and conquest, stopped supporting the ongoing land theft and oppression and said “No more cash from the Iron Bank, Tywin!” and let in a little band from the international courts of justice to apply the same rules in King’s Landing that apply to everyone else?
