Protecting patients

Jennifer Semrow is adamant about her body. (“A defiant nurse lashes out over vaccine mandate”). “My body doesn’t belong to my employer. My body doesn’t belong to the government. My body belongs to me and I mandate and say what goes into my body.” That’s why Semrow, an nurse working with patients and long-term residents at a Connecticut rehab center, refuses to get the COVID vaccine.

My question for Ms. Semrow is a simple one: What about other people’s bodies? Specifically, the people you make good money taking care of: what if they would prefer not to have the COVID virus in their bodies?

Everyone in the reality-based community realizes at this point that the vaccines are very, very helpful in reducing the spread of the virus. It’s overwhelmingly the unvaccinated who are coming down with COVID; naturally, it’s overwhelmingly the unvaccinated who are spreading it.

So, which is it? Have you managed not to understand this straightforward science, or is it that you simply don’t give a rip about bodies (and lives) other than your own?
