Ten picturesque inns for a fall getaway
Fall is upon us. As the nights grow longer, the mornings grow colder and patches of red, orange and yellow start to make an appearance in the trees, inns around Connecticut will welcome guests eager to get a glimpse of fall color.
Most of central and western Connecticut should see peak color in mid-to-late October, while Fairfield County area leaves should reach their peak around the beginning of November. And Gov. Ned Lamont recently helped launch a $1.4 million “Full Color Connecticut” marketing campaign, which Connecticut tourism officials are hoping will help the industry rebound after the pandemic.
Christine Carnicelli is the co-owner of West Lane Inn in Ridgefield.
She said the inn has seen a major spike in reservations for the fall.
“We are super booked for this fall and we get a lot of calls from people inquiring about the area,” Carnicelli said. “I think between the cultural district designation, the charm the town offers and then just the beautiful trees we have in the area, all of those things wrapped together has made our inn very popular (for the fall).”
