Foxwoods casino seeks OK to build high-end RV park

PRESTON — The Mashantucket Pequot Tribe, owners and operators of Foxwoods Resort Casino, is seeking to develop a luxury RV resort on land the tribal nation has owned since 1994.

The tribe and Blue Water Development Corp., of Ocean City, Md., recently filed plans for the proposed park in Preston, which include camping sites, a pool, a water slide, a splash pad, tennis and volleyball courts, a playground, a camp store and a picnic pavilion. The project, located just north of Foxwoods, will be discussed Tuesday at the Inlands Wetlands and Watercourses Commission meeting.

Blue Water has completed eight projects of similar size and scope in various states. This latest project comes after a record number of recreational vehicles were sold over the past year in the U.S.
