Frances J. Caldwell

Frances J. Caldwell, age 84, of Beacon Falls peacefully entered into rest on Friday, October 15, 2021 in her home with her family by her side. She was the devoted wife of the late James V. Caldwell. Frances was born in Derby on May 17, 1937, daughter of the late Peter and Anna (Fichura) Garafolo, and lived in the Valley all her life. She worked as Lead for Hershey Metals Penn Keystone for many years. Frances enjoyed scrapbooking and shopping, loved to travel and also loved animals.

Her family, however, was her greatest joy. She is the beloved mother of Patricia Caldwell and Mary Caldwell Mengual and her husband John. She also leaves three cherished grandchildren, John Mengual, Melissa (Fedner) Bernadel, and Kimberly Mengual, three greatgrandchildren, Benjamin Mengual, Maya Bernadel, and Alexandra Bernadel, her brother Peter (Cindy) Garafolo, two sisters, Josephine (late Herb) Sullivan and Mary Anne (Edward) Holloway, and several nieces and nephews. Frances also leaves a beloved aide of several years Dorothy Kloc. Friends may greet the family at the Edward F. Adzima Funeral Home, 253 Elizabeth Street, Derby on Thursday from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m.

Her funeral service will begin at 11 AM in the funeral home. Family and friends are required to wear masks. Burial will follow at Mt. St. Peters Cemetery.
