Cops: City man, 55, ‘stable’ after Fair Haven shooting
NEW HAVEN — A city man was shot early Wednesday in Fair Haven, according to police.
Officers responded to 911 calls regarding gunshots on Chatham Street between its intersections with Rowe and Ferry streets at about 3:56 a.m., Officer Scott Shumway said in an email.
“Responding officers located a 55-year-old New Haven man who had been struck by gunfire,” said Shumway. “American Medical
Response transported the victim to Yale New Haven Hospital where he was treated for non-life-threatening injuries and was listed in stable condition.”
Shumway asked that any witnesses who have not yet spoken with the department contact the New Haven Police Department Investigative Services Division at 203-946-6304.

As of Oct. 10, there had been 22 homicides, 89 nonfatal shootings and 280 incidents of shots fired in New Haven this year, according to the latest statistics from police.
At this time last year, there had been 17 homicides, 82 shootings and 173 incidents of shots fired, police reported.
