Mary Ann La Marca

-

Mary Ann La Marca, born Marianna Cortese on April 17, 1947 in Sicily, went to reunite with her loving husband, Cirino, in Heaven the morning of October 21, 2021. She passed away suddenly and peacefully surrounded by her daughters, Serafina La Marca and Teresa La Marca along with Diana Cable at her side just as in the last 44 years.

As a high school student in the Bronx she worked at the Treasury Department and joked how the

FBI had her fingerprints on file! Mary Ann retired from Olympic Steel in 2012 and always kept busy. She loved music and always had it playing around the house, anything chocolate was her favorite and could rehab any plant. In recent months she joyfully had puppy Piccolo to watch General Hospital with her. She found great pleasure being a part of watching Kaylyn, her goddaughter, Nicholas, Ty and Zack grow up, never missing an event small or big.

An amazingly strong and sweet woman whose Italian meals were legendary. All 4’11” of her would not stop doing for others, she was truly the most selfless and loving wife and mother whose unwavering faith gave her great comfort, especially in these past 6 years without her husband of nearly 50 years. She will be immeasurably missed.
