Robert Barth
Robert George Barth, age 81, of Shelton peacefully entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, November 17, 2021 surrounded by his loving family in his home. He was the devoted husband of Alice (Krupa) Barth, celebrating their 60th anniversary on October 14th. Bob was born in Derby on September 14, 1940, the son of the late George and Ruth (Palmer) Barth. Bob was a graduate of Ansonia HS Class of 1957, and worked as a research technician for Olin Metal Research in New Haven for many years prior to retirement. He was the voice of the Ansonia Chargers for 25 years as well as announcing at Yale and Southern, and was a member of the Silver Sluggers. Bob enjoyed Doo Wop and 50’s music and was a member of the Doo Wop Society. Most of all he was devoted to his family and he was extremely proud of his grandchildren’s academic and athletic accomplishments. He is the beloved father of Robin Coon and her husband Michael, Linda Brickett and her husband William, and Kelly Dorman and her husband Earl, and proud grandfather of Matthew, Scott, and Adam Earl, Cameron and Carson Coon, Brenden and Shannon Brickett, and Lindsay and Lauren Dorman. He also leaves two sisters, Margaret Jadach and Barbara Conder, and a special niece Carole Ann Shifflett. Bob was predeceased by his twin-brother, Ronald, and a sister, Georgia. Friends are invited to greet his family on Sunday from 1 to 4 p.m. in the Riverview Funeral Home, 390 River Rd., Shelton. Masks are required to attend the visitation. On Monday everyone is invited to go directly to St. Michael’s Church, 75 Derby Ave., Derby, for his Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Entombment will follow in Mt. St. Peter’s Cemetery, Derby.
