Schedules continue to be impacted by COVID outbreaks
The Sacred Heart University women’s basketball team’s game against Central Connecticut State scheduled for Thursday has been canceled, the Northeast Conference announced. Central Connecticut was was unable to compete due to COVID protocols, necessitating the cancellation.
Per the NEC’s Cancellation and Forfeit Policy, the game will be deemed a forfeit. Central Conneticut State will be assigned a loss in the conference standings and Sacred Heart assigned a win. By NCAA policy, forfeits will not change a team’s official won-lost record, nor will they impact statistics or coaching records.
Sacred Heart is scheduled to play Wagner on Saturday at 2 p.m.
YALE, QUINNIPIAC WOMEN’S HOCKEY GAMES POSTPONED
Due to health and safety protocols activated within the Yale women’s hockey program, the team will be unable to compete this weekend. The game scheduled for this Saturday between RPI and Yale has been posponed, and a reschedule date/time will be announced when it becomes available.
The St. Lawrence women’s hockey program will be unable to compete this weekend due to health and safety protocols within the program. The Saints game against Quinnipiac on Friday has been postponed, and a reschedule date/time will be announced when it becomes available.
The Yale-Columbia men’s basketball game that was postponed on Jan. 2 has been rescheduled for Jan. 25 at 7 p.m. at the John J. Lee Amphitheater in New Haven.
FAIRFIELD WOMEN POSTPONED
In compliance with COVID-19 protocols, the Fairfield women’s basketball home game against Saint Peter’s scheduled for Thursday has been postponed. Fairfield’s road game at Rider on Saturday is still scheduled for 7 p.m.
YALE UPDATES SPECTATOR POLICY
Yale announced home varsity games will be held without fans through at least Monday.
Women’s basketball vs. Harvard on Saturday, men’s and women’s squash vs. Drexel and gymnastics vs. Brown, LIU and West Chester on Sunday will all compete in their respective sports without fan attendance.
