Michelle “Shelly” (Bouchard) Chrystal, 57, of North Carolina, wife of the late Robert A. Chrystal, died peacefully Friday March 25, 2022. She was born in Meriden, the daughter of the late Gerald Bouchard and Muriel “Mimi' (Greene) Conant.

As a young girl she lived in Wallingfor­d and Meriden, moving to Middletown as a teen. She studied Cosmetolog­y at Vinal Technical High School and worked as a daycare assistant in Cromwell and Middletown. She traveled across the United States and lived in California, Florida, Arizona, and Texas. After she met her husband, Bobby, they lived in Ivoryton along with his father “Papa ‘‘ George for several years before the “3 Amigos” moved to North Carolina in 2004. She made and sold handbeaded jewelry with designs that echoed her Native American heritage. Shelly was a sweet soul with a serious sweet tooth who loved to care for others, especially children and animals. She is survived by her sister, Rhonda Romus, and her nieces Jillian (Amenta) Santoro and Victoria Amenta and their husbands Alex and Stephen; grand-niece Raegen Warzocha; stepdad Dave Conant, stepbrothe­r Michael Conant; stepmom JoAnn Volpe, stepsister Tammy Cassile, stepbrothe­r Todd Cassile; her aunt Betty (Greene) and uncle Bob Hall, aunt Jo (Greene) Cox, uncle Bobby Greene, aunt Jeanette Greene and her many cousins and extended family and friends. She was predecease­d by her brother Peter Bouchard, her cousin Alica (Hall) France who was like a sister, and many other beloved aunts, uncles, cousins and dear friends. A funeral service will be held Saturday (April 2nd), at 2 p.m. at Biega Funeral Home, 3 Silver St., Middletown. Burial will be at the convenienc­e of her family at Indian Hill Cemetery, Middletown. Friends may visit with her family at Biega Funeral Home on Saturday from 1 to 2 p.m. prior to the services.
