Lars Olaf Edeen, Sr., 87, of Wallingford, passed away Tuesday, May 3, 2022, after a courageous battle at Yale New Haven Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Vivian (Ekbladh) Edeen, of 65 years. Lars was born a first-generation U.S. Citizen in Ridgeway, PA, May 11, 1934, a son of the late Salvation Army Majors John and Elva (Hillstrom) Edeen. Jr. (Mary Heslin), Laurie (Edeen) Harris (Scott), and David J. Edeen (Pamela); 11 grandchildren; 6 greatgrandchildren; his brother, John Edeen (Mary Ann); and many nieces and nephews. Lars was predeceased by his grandson, Karl “Niko” Ryan Edeen; and his sisters, Ester Johnson, Ruth Edeen, Judith Enquist, Jeanette Anderson and Violet Ljungquist. His family will receive relatives and friends on Sunday, May 8th from 2 to 6 pm in The Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 N. Main St. Ext. A Funeral Service will be held Monday at 10 am at the First Congregational Church of Wallingford, 23 South Main St. Interment with Military Honors will follow in In Memoriam Cemetery.
