STUDENT ACHIEVEMENTS
Hundreds of Quinnipiac University students on March 26 raised more than $125,000 to benefit pediatric patients at Connecticut Children's Medical Center. The annual event — supported by alumni, faculty and staff — culminated with a 10-hour dance marathon and reveal, celebrating the $125,039.67 raised through a series of innovative fundraising challenges that began last semester. The student-led event asked that each student raise at least $134, representing the number of patients currently at the hospital. Each hour, students led choreographed dances celebrating different themes — and even faculty and staff got into the spirit, leading their own dance routines. The money raised will be used to fund everything from patient care resources to technology and research.
St. Mary School Milford's Girls Junior Varsity Basketball Team won the Greater New Haven Parochial Athletic League Deanery Championship in their division, held March 27 at Sacred Heart Academy in Hamden. They defeated East Shoreline Catholic Academy from Branford.
