Tarra Gisselle Benson

July 7, 1072 - April 21, 2022

Tarra Gisselle Benson, of Deltona, Florida, passed away April 21, 2022, after a long illness.

Tarra was born July 7,

1972, in Milford, CT, moved to Yalesville, CT in 1974, attended Yalesville schools, and graduated from Sheehan High School in 1990. She attended Southern Connecticut State University and lived and worked in New Haven for several years until she moved to Ft. Lauderdale, Florida in 2003.

In 2013 Tarra moved to Deltona, Florida where she lived with her boyfriend Ed Ward (formerly of Yalesville), and his three sons Devin, Joseph, and Steven.

Tarra is also survived by her parents Cheryl Slomkowski (Marty) of Moodus, and Ray Heald, Jr. (Sue) of Wallingford, her sisters Jacre’ Heald and Leah Heald, and her brother Jordan Slomkowski. Tarra leaves behind several aunts, uncles, cousins, and the loves of her life – her nieces Skylah and Maizey and nephew Steeley. She also leaves behind her longtime friend Larry Mayes of Pompano Beach, Florida.

Tarra was a beautiful young woman known for her sweet and loving personality. She was especially known for her rapid-fire speech and infectious laugh! Tarra loved to dance and attended Miss Wendy’s School of Dance for 13 years. She loved anything about Paris and France. Tarra loved tennis and Serena Williams was her favorite player. Please remember Tarra every time you see sunflowers – her favorite.
