Marion F. Gilhuly

Marion F. Gilhuly, 92, of Branford, died Friday May 13, 2022 in the Guilford House after a long illness. She was the longtime companion of the late Nils Munson of Branford. She was born October 13, 1929 in New Haven, a daughter of the late Frank and Mary Carey Gilhuly. After graduating from then Commercial High School, she went to work for Winchester Repeating Arms, where she retired as an administrative assistant after 50 years. She was a member of the Branford Elks Club, BPOE 1939, and the Owenego Beach and Tennis Club in Branford. Marion was a fiercely independent woman. She was an avid bowler and loved to dance and travel. Marion always had a smile on her face and a sweet disposition and was loved by all. She was predeceased by a sister, Eleanor Connors; and brothers, John, Frank, Edward, James, Robert and David Gilhuly. She is survived by many nieces and nephews. Family and friends are invited to go directly to St. Lawrence Cemetery, Derby Ave., West Haven, for a graveside service on Thursday May 19, 2022 at 11:00 AM. There are no calling hours.
