North Branford upends H-K in Shoreline softball semifinals

Kiley Mullins went the distance on a shutout to help No. 5 seed North Branford upend top seed Haddam-Killingwor­th 5-0 Tuesday in the Shoreline Conference tournament semifinals.

North Branford, the six-time defending champion, will face No. 3 seed Old Lyme in the final on Thursday.

Wilbur Cross 20-21, Career 1-11: Ava Lockwood and Olivia Vega both homered for Wilbur Cross (8-12), which swept its cross rival Monday to qualify for the CIAC state tournament for the first time since 2003.

O’Brien Tech 22, Ellis Tech 2 (5): Meckenzie Revere and Marley Orosz combined on a one-hitter for top seed O’Brien Tech in the CTC tournament semifinals at Ansonia.

GIRLS LACROSSE

Cheshire 20, Amity 8: Ava Harris had four goals and three assists for Cheshire (12-5) in the SCC tournament semifinals at home.

The Rams (12-5) will face top seed Guilford in the championsh­ip game Thursday at 5:30 p.m. at West Haven.
