Vincenzo Caputo, age 75, beloved husband of Giuseppina Barbato Caputo of West Haven, entered into rest on Saturday, August 27, 2022 at Yale New Haven Hospital, surrounded by his loving family. Vincenzo was born in Caivano, Italy on September 25, 1946, son of the late Luigi and Pauline Rotanna Caputo. Vincenzo immigrated to the U.S in 1966 and settled in Derby, where he resided until moving to West Haven in 1983. He worked as a machine operator for the American Brass Company for many years until his retirement. Vincenzo was proud of his Italian legacy and enjoyed many trips to Italy. He was a member of the Sons of Italy of Derby. He especially loved watching soccer and also enjoyed playing bocce, foosball and bowling. Most of all, he cherished spending time with his children and family, Sunday dinners and family vacations. In addition to his broken hearted wife of 56 years, he is survived by his devoted children, son, Luigi (Lina) Caputo; daughter, Pauline (Christophe­r) Tynan; and son, Francesco (Nadine) Caputo. Brother to Antonio Capece, Josephine Liovvi, and Giuseppina Elardino. Vincenzo was the loving Nonno of Angela Caputo (Kyle Harris) Alyssa Tynan, Vincenzo Caputo, Francesca Caputo and Mateo Caputo; and also was survived by many nieces and nephews.

Friends and family may call on Tuesday morning, August 30th from 9:00 to 10:30 AM at the Edward F. Adzima Funeral Home, 253 Elizabeth Street, Derby. His funeral procession will leave the funeral home at 10:30 AM for his Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM at St. Mary’s Church, Derby. His entombment will follow at Mt. St. Peter Cemetery. The family wishes to extend their sincere appreciati­on to the physicians, nurses and medical staff of the Yale New Haven Hospital, especially to Dr. Cary Caldwell, for their compassion­ate care given to Vincenzo in his time of need.
