Margaret Burns

April 30,1948 - February 7,2023

-

Our precious mother Margaret (Radcliffe) Burns, sadly passed away on Feb.7, 2023, at the age of 74 surrounded by her adoring family. “Peggy” was born in South Boston Massachusetts on April 30, 1948. She was predeceased by her daughter Mary and is survived by her three reasons for living, Lori (Joseph) DeStefano, Jonlynn (Nicholas) Vancho and Julie (Raymond) Cruciani.

Peggy was a true pioneer in her career as a respiratory therapist. She was one of the first female therapists starting her career at Somerville Hospital in Massachusetts. She devoted over 35 years to a profession she truly loved at Milford Hospital until her retirement in 2013.

Whether you knew her as Margaret, Peggy, Peg or Gummy, you knew she would be there for you at anytime. Mom would always give the shirt off her back for anyone. Some families took in pets, mom would take in people. She was a generous soul, kind and always put her children first.

Aside from the children she devoted her life to, Peggy is survived by her eight grandchildren, William (Erin) Cipolli, Allison (Paul) Jenner, Tyler DeStefano, Jason Vancho, Kyle DeStefano,

Dylan DeStefano, Gianna Cruciani and Nikolas Cruciani.

Peggy was also blessed with her first great grandchild Oliver in 2022.

Peggy loved and cherished her family. Her mother Anne, Father Russell and her siblings Anne, Francis, Joan, Mary, Russell and

Billy.

We will honor our mom in private per her wishes. A celebration of life will be held in April, on what would have been her 75th birthday.

We would like to thank CT Hospice for their support and guidance in helping us care for mom at home. Donations can be made to CT Hospice 100 Double Beach Rd, Branford, CT 06405 www.hospice.com. https:// www.hospice.com/honormemorial-gifts/
