Audrey Elizabeth (O’Brien) Russo, 96, of

New Britain, Hamden and Wallingfor­d, died February 25, 2023 at The CT Hospice in Branford. She was the beloved wife of Samuel Anthony Russo who predecease­d her in 2011, just short of their 61st wedding anniversar­y. Audrey was born and raised in New Britain, on January 1, 1927. She was the daughter of George & Edith Troesch O’Brien. She and Sam made their homes in New Britain, Wallingfor­d, and Hamden before her return to Wallingfor­d where she spent the past 8 years at Ashlar Village. She greatly enjoyed her new home and the company of the many new friends she made while she was there. The family would like to express their gratitude to everyone at Yale New Haven Hospital at St. Raphael Campus and at The CT Hospice, Branford for their skill and compassion in easing her final journey. Audrey is survived by her children Gail Russo of Australia, Joseph Russo (Chela) of Maryland and Richard Russo of Wallingfor­d. She is also the much loved grandmothe­r and greatgrand­mother of Stacey (Bill), Georgia (Aaron), Hayley,

Matthew (Gracie), Michael and Devan and aunt to numerous nieces and nephews, all of whom she loved very much. She was predecease­d by her beloved daughter Karen Russo Manson as well as by her sister Marie Joyce and her husband Francis, and her brother George O’Brien and his wife Shirley. Funeral will be held SATURDAY 9:00 from the Peter H. Torello & Son FH, 1022 Dixwell Ave., and 10 am in Blessed Sacrament Church. Friends may call Friday from 4-7 pm. Burial will follow in All Saints cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to CT Hospice online at www.hospice.com
