WOODBRIDGE — Three people suspected in a string of commercial burglaries were arrested over a period of five weeks between late January and early March, according to local police.

In total, nine burglaries were reported, Woodbridge police said in a Facebook post Thursday afternoon. They all occurred in the lower Amity Road and Litchfield Turnpike areas and involved forced entry, police said.

With the assistance of New Haven authorities, police said, detectives investigating the burglaries identified three New Haven residents as suspects.

First to be arrested was Enos Pearse, 38, according to police. Pearse was taken into custody on Jan. 27 in connection with a burglary committed earlier that morning, police said. He was charged with conspiracy to commit third-degree burglary and scheduled to be arraigned in state Superior Court in New Haven on Feb. 10.

Next was Robetsy “Betsy” Quinones, 25, according to police. Quinones, a former North Carolina resident, was in the custody of the Connecticut Department of Correction at the time of her Feb. 22 arrest, police said. She was charged with three counts of third-degree burglary, two counts of sixth-degree larceny and one count of thirddegree criminal mischief. Bond for those offenses was set at a total of $15,000, police said.

Last was Liston “Sonny” Gauthier, 29, according to police. Like Quinones, police said, Gauthier was a former resident of North Carolina and was in the custody of the Connecticut Department of Correction at the time of his Thursday arrest. He was charged with seven counts of third-degree burglary and six counts of sixth-degree larceny. Bond for those offenses was set at a total of $130,000, police said.

Following processing, according to police, both Quinones and Gauthier were turned back over to judicial marshals to be arraigned in state Superior Court in New Haven.

Quinones may also be a suspect in other burglaries in the New Haven area. She was arrested on Jan. 31 in connection with a residential burglary on Genesee Street in New Haven’s Westville neighborhood after she was found hiding in a recycling bin near the targeted property, Capt. Rose Dell, public information officer for the New Haven Police Department, said.

Dell added Quinones was in possession of cocaine and drug paraphernalia at the time.
