Gloria A. Brunson

Gloria A. Brunson, 61, of New Haven, CT passed away suddenly on February 20, 2023, at Yale New Haven Hospital-SRC with her family at her bedside. Gloria was born in Durham, NC on July 6, 1961 to the late Ben L. Brunson Sr. and the late Almeta H. Brunson. Gloria currently worked for the City of New Haven Traffic & Parking, as a well known, respected, and loved Crossing Guard. All the kids LOVED Ms. Gloria so much! She had that effect on everyone including adults. She was everyone’s favorite crossing guard, whether your child was currently crossed by her or previously. She has crossed children and adults for over 20 years!

Gloria was a Christian who loved singing and dancing to worship and praise music.

Gloria is survived by three daughters Lesche’ Moye (Craig), Sha’lece Thompson, and Melira Hutchings, eight grandchildren Jahbari, Tyshon, Jayden, Naj’aye, A’Nari, Malakhi, Gabriella, and Melody, one great-grandchild Li’Any.

One brother Ben Brunson Jr.(Deanna) and one sister Brenda Crocker, her bonus sons and nephews Michael Ritter Jr., Marquis Crocker, nephews Je’Von Brunson, Sherman Brunson, her nieces Nicole Hart, Valerie Hart, and Taylor Brunson, along with a host of extended family and friends.

Gloria was predeceased by her eldest brother Willie Hart, both parents Ben. Brunson Sr. and Almeta Hart Brunson.

Services for Gloria will be held March 14, 2023 at Wayfaring Ministries, 29R Treadwell Street, Hamden, CT 06517 at 10 a.m. Lunch will follow at announced location. Burial will be private.
