Phillip J. Brown, 82, of North Haven, beloved husband of Lauren Frank Brown passed away peacefully at the Masonic Home and Hospital following a lengthy illness. He was born in New Haven on October 11, 1940 to the late Ruth and Harold Brown, Phillip and Lauren were married 57 years. His greatest joy besides his wife came from his three children and four wonderful grandchild­ren.

Phillip earned an honorable discharge from the Army after serving at the 121st Evac hospital in Korea during the Vietnam Era. He received a scholarshi­p to Hartford Hospital and became a certified cytologist. He worked at the VA Hospital in West Haven while attending Fairfield University.

Phillip and Lauren married in 1965 and moved to Grand Forks, North Dakota. He took courses in electrical engineerin­g at the University of North Dakota and changed his career goals. He became an aerospace sales engineer designing parts for jet engines. He enjoyed the opportunit­y for travel from his career and traveled to all 50 states and 5 continents.

Phil was recently honored to receive his 50 year membership pin from the Grand Lodge of Connecticu­t. He was active in the American Legion Post 76 and was a former District Commander.

Phil was predecease­d by his brother Mark Brown. He is survived by his children Robyn-Allise and Jim Hyland of Madison and County Cork, Ireland, Shira Skybinskyy of Washington State, and

Glenn and Karen Brown of West Hartford. Many thanks to the West Haven VA hospital and Masonic Home and Hospital for the excellent and compassion­ate care they gave Phil.

Funeral services will be held at Independen­t Lodge Cemetery, 3 Brockett Place, East Haven on Thursday afternoon March 16th at 1:30 o'clock. The Robert E. Shure & Son Funeral Home, New Haven is in care of Arrangemen­ts.

Shiva will take place at 39 Edison Dr., North Haven, CT06473 on Thursday, Friday and Sunday.
