16, 2023, Lt. Col. Suzanna J. Rogers, retired USAF, passed away. She was born in Alpine, California on November 29, 1925 as Suzanna J. Noble, daughter of the late Dorothy (Walker) and Chauncy Noble. She was predecease­d by her husband Sedgewick Rogers and a sister, Elizabeth B. Noble.

Suzanna was a graduate of Mercy College of Nursing, San Diego, CA. She enlisted in US Air Force Nurse Corps in 1952 and served 29 years as a general duty nurse. She retired in 1981 with the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. During her military career, she attended the Air University School of Aviation and USAF School of Nursing in Alabama. As a flight nurse she performed nursing services in many foreign countries and continents, including Germany, France, Africa and Japan. In recognitio­n of her military services, she was awarded several citations, including the National Defense Service Medal, Occupation Medal, Air Force Longevity Medal with a Bronze Oak Leaf cluster and the Air Force Reserve Medal. During retirement, she maintained her connection­s with her friends in the Society of Retired Air Force Nurses.

She was also a deaconess of the First Congregati­onal Church in Guilford. Suzanna was a gentle soul who was always happy and positive. She was known at her residence as the “hat lady” because she always wore beautiful hats to match her beautiful personalit­y. Suzanna will truly be missed by all that knew and loved her.

Friends are invited to a graveside service with Military Honors at Alder Brook Cemetery, 375 Boston St., Guilford, on Saturday, March 18 at 11 am.
