Carly Commune, Cheshire, Soph.: Recorded a hat trick in the Rams; 6-0 victory over Wilbur Cross.
Tess Ferrie, Branford, Sr.: Had three goals and two assists in Branford’s 7-0 win over Hamden. Scored the lone goal for Branford in a 2-1 loss to Sacred Heart Academy.
Tea Gambardella, Guilford, Jr.: Had a hat trick in Guilford’s 6-0 win over East Haven.
Michaela Gasparri, Woodland, Jr.: Scored twice Wolcott (3-1 win) and added a goal against Torrington (5-1 win).
Eve Marin, Amity, Fr.: Scored a pair of goals in the Spartans’ 5-0 win over Law.
Simsbury defense:
Able to shut out Glastonbury, the reigning CCC champions, 2-0. According to Simsbury coach Steve Jarvis, it is the Trojans’ first victory over Glastonbury in more than two decades.
Caroline Spengler, Fairfield Ludlowe Sr.:
Midfielder had two goals and two assists in a 5-1 victory at Westhill. Also had two assists in a 3-1 win at McMahon.
Victoria Sturm, Waterford, Jr.: Goalkeeper posted a 5-0 shutout of Ledyard, her fourth on the season in five games.
Julia Wright, Ansonia, Sr.: Had a hat trick in the Chargers’ 6-0 win over Torrington.
Angela Zandri, Wilcox Tech, Sr.: Had three goals and an assist in Wilcox Tech’s 4-1 win over Platt Tech.
Hannah Zuklie, Thomaston, Sr.:Scored four goals in Thomaston’s 10-0 victory over Gilbert.
GAMES TO WATCH Cheshire at Hand, Friday, Sept. 29, 6 p.m.:
Both teams come into this week with one loss — both against Mercy. Should be a fun atmosphere at the Surf Club.
Hand at Guilford, Monday, Oct. 2, 5 p.m.: Guilford has won four straight games since a 3-2 loss to Hand in the season opener. Key game in positioning for the SCC tournament.
