Francis and Patricia Jean Petrini, Jr., of Hamden, passed away on January 15, 2024.

Frank was born in New Haven on October 3, 1943 to the late Frank and Mary Fields Petrini, Sr. He was a graduate of Amity High School before earning his Bachelor’s degree from New Haven College. After college, he joined the US Army in the Security Agency. He served overseas as a cryptographic linguist, having participated in a number of classified operations. Frank had been employed by Yale University and most recently until retirement, employed by the US Postal Service. He was a Mason, member of the Hunter Clan Association,

6th Regiment Continental Line, and the Hamden Bocci Club. Frank took pleasure in being outdoors and took great pride in his home and yard. Everyone in the neighborhood knew who Frank was from his daily walks over the years with the family dog.

Pat was born on August

14, 1947 in Roslyn, NY to the late Stanley and Stella Zbikowski Brzezinski. She grew up on Long Island before graduating from

Carle Place High School. Although most of her adult life revolved around being all things “Mom,” Pat enjoyed working at the Hamden Public Library, ACES, and as a real estate agent. On any given day, if you were to walk into Pat’s house, family and friends could catch her singing and dancing along to the radio, her home always warm and welcoming. Her favorite time of year was spring, when her favorite cherry blossom trees bloomed, and then summer with long days at the beach. Pat loved tending to her vegetable garden and could often be found admiring the abundance of beautiful flowers she planted throughout the yard.

Frank and Pat were married in 1972 before making Hamden home for the next 50 years. Family was everything to Frank and Pat. They loved their girls and spending quality time with them was what they enjoyed the most. Always memorable were summer vacations in Maine and holidays at home that were full of love and family traditions. Pat could be feisty, but her fun side often shone through. Frank, always showing concern for his daughters, was also habitually silly. Becoming grandparents could not have made them any happier. Starting from infancy, Frank and Pat were at every milestone, big and small, and cherished watching their grandchildren grow. Over the years, weekends were cheerfully tied up at recitals and sporting events. Frank and Pat could not have been any prouder of their accomplishments and all of their grandchildren endlessly adored them.

They will be lovingly remembered and forever missed by their daughters, Lori Maslowski and Michelle and Abiram Bathgate; their grandchildren, Daniel and Caitlyn Maslowski and Jackson and Connor Bathgate; Pat’s sister and brother-in-law, Barbara and Joe Simorowski; niece and nephew, Diane (Dave) Lynch and Joe (Noriko) Simorowski. Predeceased by Frank’s brother, John Petrini.

Friends may visit with their family on Monday, January 22nd from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. at BEECHER & BENNETT FUNERAL HOME, 2300 Whitney Ave., Hamden. A Funeral Service celebrating their lives will take place at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home, followed by burials in Beaverdale Memorial Park with Military Honors.
