Patricia King Zane of North Branford, CT entered into eternal rest on February 22, 2024. She was the high school sweetheart and wife of 65 years of John Zane. Mother of Kenneth J. Zane ( Jillmary) of Cheshire and Christophe­r J. Zane (Kathleen) of Guilford; and grandmothe­r of Ashley, Ian, Gregory, Charlie, and Oliver Zane. She was the sister of Stephen David King (Anne) of Exeter, NH. Born March 4, 1937, daughter of the late Stephen and Nora Cosgrove King, she was raised in New Haven, graduating from St. Boniface School (‘50) and

St. Mary’s High School (‘54). Following high school, she was employed by SNET while attending comptomete­r school. Upon completion of the program, she was recruited to a position in the office of the Auditor of Disburseme­nt at The New Haven Railroad. She resigned from the Railroad to raise her sons but maintained her interest and skills by volunteeri­ng her services to the East Haven schools as bookkeeper, financial secretary, and treasurer for the PTAs and the EH High School Band Parents’ Associatio­n. In the early 1980s she earned her licenses as a Realtor and Real Estate Broker but delayed her entry into the profession in order work with son, Christophe­r in the establishm­ent of Zane’s Cycle and Zane’s Inc. She served as the corporate president for five years before resuming her interest in real estate with The W. T. Beazley Company and later with Coldwell Banker/ Coast & Country. She was a member of the Cub Scout Pack 412 Committee while her husband and sons were active members of the unit. From 1972 to 1989 she was an avid square dancer with the Guilford Shoreliner­s SDC, serving as president with her husband for three of those 17 years. More recently, she enjoyed attending her grandchild­ren’s athletic events. For all her activities and accomplish­ments, she might be best quietly remembered for her pro-bono assistance to many friends and acquaintan­ces as a highly experience­d Real Estate Broker during difficult times.

Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, March 1st at 11 a.m. in St. Stanislaus Church-Blessed Michael McGivney Parish, 9 Eld Street, New Haven. Burial will follow in All Saints Cemetery. At Patricia’s request there will be no visiting hours.
