BAILARDO, SAMUEL M.

Samuel M. Bailardo, age 78, beloved husband of the late Veronica (Urban) Bailardo and Reba Carter of Orange City, FL, passed away after a brief illness on June 8, 2018. Sam was born May 31, 1940 in Bridgeport, CT and was the son of the late Matthew J. Bailardo and the late Carmella M. (Esposito) Bailardo. He was a 1959 graduate from Bullard Havens Technical High School, a member of the Island X-19 Seabees of the US Navy and a licensed electrician. After an honorable discharge, Sam settled in Milford, CT to raise his three daughters. He worked in the Public Works Department for the City of Milford as an electrician and after 25 years retired as a foreman from the Public Works Department. After Ronni’s passing, Sam moved to Florida where he enjoyed visits to Daytona Beach and the West Coast, loved listening to country and bluegrass music and enjoyed the fish pond he took pride in building to house his many koi, catfish and turtles. Sam will be greatly missed by his daughters, Deborah (Carl) Kaufman, Lisa (Dave) Whitham, both of Milford, CT, and Pamela (Anthony) Minicucci of North Haven, CT, his wife, Reba of Orange City, FL, his adoring grandchildren, Heather (Tim) Davis, Tara and Sean Kaufman, Ashley and Brittany Whitham, and Danielle and Gianna Minicucci, his brother, Dennis Bailardo of San Diego, CA, and two great-grandsons, Desmond Davis and Jace Pritchard. He is also survived by three step-children, Deborah Cotton, Randall Nance, and Russell Carter and five step-grandchildren. Sam was predeceased by a brother, Peter Bailardo of Florida. Sam was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend to everyone he met. All are welcome to attend graveside services on Aug 22, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Michael Cemetery, 2205 Stratford Ave, Stratford, CT 06615.
