Vincent Wachter, beloved husband, father and grandfathe­r passed away on August 10th, surrounded by his family. Vincent was born in Gundelfing­en, Germany in 1919 and immigrated to the United States with his parents, Karl and Josephine Wachter and sister Marie in 1927. He became a naturalize­d citizen in 1933. He graduated from Buckley High School in Hartford and went to work for Lacey Manufactur­ing in Bridgeport prior to his induction into the Navy in 1944. While stationed in Long Beach, California, he met the love of his life, Lois June Campbell, whom he married in 1946 following his release from the Navy. He and his family moved to Milford in 1950, where he was employed by Lacey Manufactur­ing as a tool and die maker. He left Lacey to be one of the founding partners of WAFE Manufactur­ing. WAFE, originally located in Stratford was sold and the name changed to Alinabal Manufactur­ing. Alinabal moved to its current location on Woodmont Rd. in Milford in 1970. Vincent remained President of the company until his retirement in 1984. During his career he was active in the Milford business community, working with numerous organizati­ons, including the United Way, Chamber of Commerce and Junior Achievemen­t. He was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, June, his parents, Karl and Josephine, and his sister Marie Kasparek and her husband, Edward. He is survived by his four children, Karen Fox of Bellflower, California, Kathy Wachter and her husband Brian Cunningham of Orange, Kris MIller of Milford and son Ken Wachter and his wife Erika of Green Bay, Wisconsin. He also leaves his loving grandchild­ren, Tim Fox (Roxanne), Jeff Miller (Jenn), his granddaugh­ters, Ava and Maren Wachter and his four great grandchild­ren, along with many nieces, nephewsand cousins.
