Catherine “Dolly” Banti, 86, died Wednesday, September 19, 2018, after a brief illness. In hospice care, she died peacefully at home, with her family beside her.

She leaves her beloved husband, Romolo “Ronnie” Banti, sons, Richard Banti (Marie), Robert Banti (Madelyn), daughter, Debra Banti, granddaugh­ters Tonya, Amanda, Tia, grandsons Robert, Daniel (Meaghan), Jaymie (Vanessa), Sammuel, Stephan, and great-grandchild­ren Juliana, Makayla, and Justin. She was predecease­d by her sister, Rosemarie Russo and a grandson, Jacob Banti. Born in New Haven, Connecticu­t, February 19, 1932, she grew up always surrounded by family. She is also survived by brothers Stephen “Soup Bone” DiSturco, Michael DiSturco, sisters Maureen (Michael) Reichbart, JoAnne Sayer, Regina (Michael) Duhaime, and many nieces and nephews.

Dolly had a great love of family throughout her life. She was an amazing cook and homemaker, and when you left her home, you never left hungry or empty handed. She enjoyed playing cards, playing bingo, gambling at the casino, reading and watching old movies. But her most treasured activity was spending time with the family. She had a beautiful smile, and a beautiful soul. She will be deeply missed by many.

There will be a memorial mass taking place at Saint Bridget Church, 175 Main Street, Cheshire, CT, on Friday, September 28, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. The burial will be private.
