Margaret “Peggy” Jooss 93, of New Haven passed away peacefully on September 20, 2018 at Whitney Manor in Hamden. She was born on March 23, 1925 in New Haven to the late Edward and Margaret (Randow) Jooss. She is preceded in death by her brother Edward. Peggy is survived by her nephews, Mark (Patricia) Jooss of Madison and Edward Jooss of Branford. She is also survived by great nieces Ellen (Christophe­r) Bergin of North Haven, Lauren Jooss of North Haven and great nephew Brian Sr. (Laura) Jooss of North Haven and great great nieces and nephews, Breanna Jooss, Aidan, Madeline and Quinn Bergin, Riley, Brian and Brendan Jooss, all of North Haven and by her lifelong friend Mary “Mae” Horan of Cheshire. Peggy worked for forty years at SNET in New Haven as a graphic illustrato­r. She loved animals, art, old movies and her family and friends. Peggy’s family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to the third floor nurses and staff at Whitney Manor for their outstandin­g care.

Family will receive friends from 9 until 10:30 a.m. on Monday, September 24, 2018 at the Clancy-Palumbo Funeral Home (Clancy Funeral Home), 43 Kirkham Ave, East Haven CT. Her funeral procession will leave the Clancy-Palumbo Funeral Home on Monday at 10:40 a.m. for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in St. Francis Catholic Church, 397 Ferry St. New Haven, CT with committal to follow at St Lawrence Cemetery, Derby Ave., West Haven, CT. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Francis- St. Rose School Developmen­t Fund 423 Ferry St, New Haven, CT 06513.
