John (Jay) David Adams Jr., 57, of Branford, CT passed away on November 15, 2018 at his home. He was the son of Jacqueline Adams Barker of Branford, CT, and John Adams Sr. of Uncasville, CT. Jay was born in New Haven, CT on May 9, 1961 and was raised in Killingwor­th, CT. He attended Haddam-Killingwor­th High School and graduated from UConn in 1983. After graduation, Jay moved to NYC and began an illustriou­s career managing the advertisin­g sales for several major magazines and publicatio­ns. Jay recently moved back to Connecticu­t a few years ago to be closer to his family. Jay was loved by his family, and took joy in surroundin­g himself with family members throughout his lifetime. Often and at various times over the years Jay would open up his home to his family and they would join him in Manhattan, or at his weekend getaway in Asbury Park along the Jersey shore for fun family weekends. He enjoyed going to the movies, reading and spending time at the beach at Branford Point. He is survived by his mother Jacqueline Adams Barker, and father John Adams (wife Joan). He is also survived by his two siblings, Bruce Adams (wife Kirsten) East Hampton, CT, and Bethany Adams Fortier (husband Rick) Glastonbur­y, CT. He also leaves his niece and nephews Raymond Stebbins, Ryan Adams (wife Elizabeth), Tyler Stebbins (fiancé Alex), Kyle Adams (fiancé Bekah), and Grace Adams. He was predecease­d by his step-father Harvey Barker and his beloved canine companion Jake.

A memorial service is planned at the First Baptist Church for Tuesday, November 27, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. The church is located at 975 Main Street, Branford, CT. Burial of his urn will follow the church service in Branford Center Cemetery. The W.S. Clancy Memorial Funeral Home, 244 North Main Street, Branford is in care of arrangemen­ts.
