Edward “Ted” J. Krantz, 70, of Branford died suddenly Wednesday, November 21, 2018 at Yale-New Haven Hospital. He was the beloved husband and best friend of Pamela Garofalo Krantz for 47 years. Mr. Krantz was born in Carbondale, PA November 19, 1948, son of the late Edward M. and Frances Connor Krantz. He graduated from Eli Whitney before entering into the United States Air Force where he served in the Vietnam War. After returning from the war, he worked for 40 years as an engineer for SNET before retiring. Ed was an active member of St. John Bosco Parish and was a member of the American Legion. Edward had a passion for life and enjoyed fishing, cooking, gardening and spending time with his grandchild­ren. Edward always found the good in people and everyone he met became a friend. We all miss his humor, enormous heart and passion for life. He was never afraid to do what was right and truly left the world better than how he found it.

Besides his wife he is survived by his children, Christina Krantz of Milford, Eric (Diane) Krantz of Vernon and Stephanie Krantz of Branford; his grandchild­ren, Daniel, Samuel and Andrew Krantz and Alexandra and Samantha Testanero; his siblings Diane Krantz of Utah, Katherine Wade of Oregon, and Paul Krantz of Iowa. His funeral will leave the W. S. Clancy Memorial Funeral Home, 244 North Main Street Branford Tuesday morning at 8:30 for a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mary Church at St. John Bosco Parish, 731 Main St., Branford, at 9:00. Burial will follow in the State Veterans Cemetery.
