Frederick G. McNamee Jr., 93, most recently of St. Petersburg, Florida passed peacefully with his wife and daughter by his side on November 13, 2018. Fred was born in Pittsfield, Massachuse­tts on March 2, 1925. He attended Purdue University, graduating in 1945 with a degree in electrical engineerin­g. While at Purdue, he was in the Naval ROTC program, serving in the V-12 unit and played trumpet in the Purdue All-American Marching Band. He and his wife Alice lived in Orange, Connecticu­t where they raised their two children Rick and Jill. Fred spent his entire career with General Electric in sales management. Upon retirement, Alice and Fred moved to St. Petersburg, Florida. He was an active member of the Isla Del Sol community and was a devout Catholic, attending St. John Vianney Catholic Church where he served as usher for many years. Fred loved to spend time with his family, enjoyed golf and socializin­g with friends. He and Alice were known to enjoy their patio overlookin­g the pool and bay at Isla and toasting the sunset each evening with their favorite cocktail. He is survived by his wife Alice of 64 years, his children Rick McNamee of Scottsdale, Arizona, and Jill Gedigian of Boca Raton, Florida, their spouses Tanya and Narses, and his grandchild­ren Rick McNamee, Michael McNamee, Alexa Gedigian and Erik Gedigian and a very dear cousin, Helene Wasson of Delmar, NY.
