Laura Negro, 87, departed this life on November 20, 2018 at CT Hospice of Branford. She was the beloved wife of the late Louis Negro. Laura was born in New Haven, CT on September 27, 1931 to the late John and Myrtle Upton. Laura lived for her children and grandchild­ren and enjoyed life to its fullest. She was a hard-working woman, the life of a party and a true animal lover. Laura was a current resident of Wallingfor­d and a long-time resident of North Branford where she made many friends. She served as the Registrar of Voters for many years and held positions as a bookkeeper for companies to include the VNA.

Laura is survived by her loving children; Lisa Kisiel and her husband Hank, Carla Knowlton and her former husband Michael Knowlton, and Thomas Negro and his wife Christine. She will be cherished in the hearts of her grandsons, Julian and Alexander Knowlton, and her granddaugh­ters, Hailey and Kate Negro. Laura also leaves behind her brother Charles Upton of MA, her sister Sandy Koenen of FL and many nieces and nephews. She was predecease­d by her sisters Betty Brookman, Dorothy Graham, Irene Orifice, Lillian Soroka and her brother Edward Upton.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Sunday evening, November 25, 2018 from 4-6 p.m. at the B.C. Bailey Funeral Home, 273 S. Elm Street, Wallingfor­d. A Memorial Service will be held at the funeral home on Monday, November 26, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. with interment to follow at In Memoriam Cemetery in Wallingfor­d. Laura’s family would like to extend their sincere thanks for the compassion­ate and loving care given to her by her friends and the staff at Hospice.
