Olimpia DeSimone, age 84, entered into eternal rest on November 28, 2018, in Cape Canaveral Hospital in Cocoa Beach, FL, with her loving family by her side. She was the beloved wife of Aniello DeSimone. Mrs. DeSimone was born in Cicciano, Naples, Italy on May 18, 1934, daughter of the late Michele and Antonietta Miele Paolino. A resident of Ansonia for many years, she was employed in the Housekeepi­ng Department at Griffin Hospital until her retirement. She and her husband enjoyed spending the winter months in their home in Merritt Island, Florida. She was happiest when cooking for and entertaini­ng her family and friends. In addition to her husband Aniello, she leaves to cherish her memory, sons, Angelo DeSimone (Giuseppina) of Seymour and Michele DeSimone of Ansonia, a daughter, Carmela Mitchell (David) of Merritt Island, FL, cherished grandchild­ren, Aniello DeSimone of Merritt Island, FL, Aniello DeSimone of Cheshire, Olimpia DeSimone and Anna DeSimone of Ansonia, sisters, Giovanna Coppola and Teresa Vitale of Italy and several nieces and nephews. She was predecease­d by a brother, Giovanni Paolino. Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday December 4, 2018, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. in the chapel of the SPINELLI-RICCIUTI/ BEDNAR-OSIECKI FUNERAL HOME, 62 Beaver Street in Ansonia. On Wednesday, her funeral will begin at 9:15 a.m. from the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at the Church of the Assumption in Ansonia. Entombment will follow in Mt.
