Collection runs until Dec. 20. 1 Alexandra Aguiar, of Cheshire, has been selected for the Young Adult Honors Performanc­e Series at Carnegie Hall. She will perform trumpet in February with the Young Adult Honors Wind Ensemble with performers from 29 other states, Canada and Australia. Participat­ion in one of the Young Adult Honors Performanc­e Series Ensembles is limited to the highest-rated 18-25 year old instrument­alists from across the world. Aguiar has studied music for 12 years and played through high school and college. In February, finalists will come together in New York City for five days and will have the opportunit­y to learn from a world-renowned conductor, work with other finalists, and get a taste of New York City. The Honors Choral Performanc­e will take place Sunday, Feb. 10, and is open to the public. Tickets can be purchased beginning 60 days prior to the performanc­e through the Carnegie Hall box office.

Wallingfor­d police wore pink police patches on their uniforms, and a Community Police Division cruiser was wrapped in pink to draw attention to the effort. Employees held a fundraiser to benefit Sisters Project, which helps local families in need. Patches and buttons were also sold. At the end of the month, the police department donated $2,140 to Sisters Project.
