DONOVAN, GLORIA M.

Gloria M. Sperandeo Donovan of Ashlar Village, Wallingford, formerly of Townsend Ave., New Haven, died Saturday December 8, 2018 at her home. She was the wife of the late John J. Donovan. Mrs. Donovan was born June 9, 1925 in New Haven, daughter of the late Louis and Theresa Bertazzi Sperandeo. She was a lifelong resident of New Haven until recently moving to Wallingford. She was a communicant of St. Vincent DePaul Church in East Haven. Gloria is survived by her sons, John (Anne) Donovan of Old Saybrook, Richard (Jane) Donovan of Branford; her grandchildren, Fiona Donovan, John Donovan, Eamon (Stephanie) Donovan, Elizabeth (Adam) Donovan Wells and Katherine Donovan; her great-grandchildren, Jackson and Eilis Donovan; her sister-in-law Janice Sperandeo and her cousin Butch Piombino. She was predeceased by her brothers, Ralph and Richard Sperandeo. Very special gratitude to the staffs at Masonicare, Compassus and Ashlar Village who provided loving care in her time of need.

Her funeral will leave the W. S. Clancy Memorial Funeral Home, 244 North Main Street, Branford Wednesday morning at 10:15 for a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Vincent DePaul Church at St. Pio of Pietrelcina Parish, 80 Taylor Ave., East Haven at 11:00. Burial will follow in St. Agnes Cemetery, Branford. Visitation prior to the funeral from 9:15 – 10:15.
