In addition, the students are engaged in monthly service projects that develop strong character, moral values and respect for self and others.

St. Mary – St. Michael School in Derby is a pre-kindergarten through 8th grade school that is accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC).

Small class sizes allow for individualized instruction and mastery of core academic concepts. Caring teachers create a nurturing environment that motivate children to reach their highest potential. The tradition of educating the whole child is reflected in a curriculum that reflects the Catholic faith and embraces the needs of 21st century learners.

Students enjoy access to interactive white boards in every classroom, a computer mobile cart, weekly technology lesson and iPads for classroom use. The students experience weekly instruction in music, art, physical education and technology. Spanish is taught in all grades, including prekindergarten.

In addition, the students are engaged in monthly service projects that develop strong character, moral values and respect for self and others. The full-day prekindergarten program for 3 to 4 year-old children promotes optimal physical, social, emotional and cognitive development for each child.

Older students have opportunities in sports, drama, art enrichment and band. The school’s tag line – Reverence, Respect, Responsibility – is reflected in the students’ daily behavior.
