ARMSTEAD, CLARA BELL

Clara Bell Armstead, 98, formerly of New Haven, passed away Tuesday, January 8, 2019. She was born in Caroline County, VA to the late John and Lena Fortune on October 13, 1920. Clara leaves to cherish her memory, loving daughter, Gladys Marie Richardson; sister, Virginia Hampton; 2 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchilden; 2 great-great-grandchildren; and a host of relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Boyd Armstead; brothers, Harry Fortune and John Henry Fortune; and sisters, Mary Fortune, Roberta Dudley, Eva McNair, Annie Maude Barksdale, and Nora Byrd.

A celebration of her life will take place Tuesday, January 15, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Cathedral of Higher Praise, 155 Grand Ave., New Haven, CT 06513.
