BAIA, ANTHONY J.

Anthony John Baia, 68 of Raymond, NH, formerly of New Haven and Wallingford, CT, died suddenly at his home on Sunday, January 6, 2019. Anthony was born in New Haven on March 7, 1950, a son of the late Albert and Carmella Martino Baia. He grew up in New Haven before moving to Wallingford where he resided for twenty years before moving to Raymond in 1998. Anthony was a retired investigator for Metro North and previously Conrail for many years. He was a proud Vietnam Army Veteran. He is survived by a daughter, Lorrinda Estabrook of Raymond, NH, a son, John Anthony Baia and his wife Airi of Sumter, SC, three brothers, Ronald Baia of West Haven, Pasquale (Claire) Baia of Hamden and Leon (Donna) Baia, and five grandchildren, Christopher, Hana, Richard and Rina Baia, and Ada Mae Estabrook. He was predeceased by his son Christopher Michael Baia, a sister Alberta Santagata, and a brother, Richard Baia. A graveside service with military honors will take place on Tuesday, January 15th at 1:00 p.m. in St. Lawrence Cemetery, West Haven, CT. The Washington Memorial Funeral Home, 4 Washington Ave., North Haven has been entrusted with arrangements.
