GEORGE, THOMAS JOHN

-

Thomas John George (T.J.), or Erik to his California friends, lost his long, uphill battle with depression and addiction on December 10, 1918.

T.J. was born in New Haven, CT on April 21, 1967 to Carolyn George-Perry and Thomas Walter George (both predeceased). He grew up and attended school in West Haven, CT then left for California where he resided for over 30 years. He worked as a chef, waiter and bartender in the hospitality industry for many years. T.J. was so proud to have graduated from The International School of Beauty in February of 2013, which enabled him to pursue his passion to become a hair stylist. He took great pleasure from spending time with his friends, creating new and different cuisine for them to enjoy (or not). T.J. absolutely loved doting over his “boys” Hercules and Atlas, spoiling them rotten! He will be remembered as good man who enjoyed many aspects of his life with no regrets, a man who struggled with many demons and who put up a long, persistent fight to the very end and will truly be missed. He is survived by his sister, Tammy Ann George (Hozian), (Scott Longyear) of Branford, niece Kathryn Hozian of Branford, nephew Matthew Hozian of West Haven, his beloved dog and companion Hercules, several aunts, uncles and cousins. His right hand dog Atlas predeceased him.

A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, January 13, 2019, 3 p.m. at Iglesia Cristiana Estrella Resplandeciente De Jacob, 185 Chapel Street, New Haven, CT. All are welcome.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to The Palm Springs Animal Shelter, 4575 E. Mesquite Avenue, Palm Springs, CA 92264. info@psanimalshelter.org or www.pasanimalshelter.org.
