Agent pursued real estate career after help selling personal home

-

Denise Rountree got her real estate license at the suggestion of a Realtor she was consulting about selling her condo.

“There must have been something she saw in me. She suggested I get my license and sell the condo myself,” Rountree said. “She told me how to go about it and even introduced me to her broker Ed Della Valle of the Beazley Company. Twenty years later, here I am.”

Prior to real estate, she worked in sales in the cosmetics industry and as an operator for the phone company. Both taught her a great deal about customer service, patience and the value of listening.

“I always believed that listening to my clients and fulfilling their needs is of paramount concern,” she said. “I draw from my wealth of knowledge to anticipate their concerns and address these issues in advance.”

Rountree’s business philosophy can be summed up in two words: “Be there.”

“While this may seem relatively simple, it’s a multi-faceted mantra,” she said. “I am willing to give of myself to my clients without reservation. I am their ‘Friend in the Business.’”

Rountree obtains the greatest satisfaction from knowing that she has provided the best possible service to her clients. She holds honesty and fairness as the most important qualities she can possess and believes in “being nice to everyone.”

She also derives great satisfaction from working in an environment that promotes personal growth and embraces the evolution of its mission statement. Company: Dow Della Valle

“I have found greater autonomy coupled with a broker who is able to provide unparalleled knowledge of the local real estate market. In this industry, knowledge is king,” she said. “Few have the experience and closeknit family atmosphere that is prevalent in my office. Dow Della Valle is a company anchored firmly in a strong set of values and family tradition. So much of what I learned from Ed Della Valle still holds true today.”

When she’s not selling real estate, Rountree works with people that have developmental disabilities.

“It’s challenging, but so rewarding,” she said.
