Vote Zullo on 2/26

-

Recently, Kimberly Glassman wrote in claiming to be able to predict how Joe Zullo, a candidate for state representative in East Haven, might vote on the issue of minimum wage if elected. To make things clear — Glassman is a registered lobbyist, a fact she conveniently omitted from her letter. In fact, she works for a company that, according to its public tax returns, has paid its employees almost $300,000 over the last three reported tax years to lobby politicians on issues like the minimum wage.

I’ve known Joe Zullo since he was a child and, unlike Glassman, I do not get paid to advocate for issues or political candidates. However, I have witnessed firsthand the depth and breadth of Zullo’s involvement in the East Haven community. At just 10 years old, he hosted a public access television show on “ETV,” interviewing prominent officials like former Fire Chief Wayne Sandford, and even former WTNH weatherperson Sally Ann Mosey. At 14, he created a Town “E-Zine,” a website dedicated to town news. Most recently, I worked with Joe and local police officials to revive the town’s 5K community road race after its organizer and prime sponsor bailed only weeks before the event was set to be held. In between, Joe has been a fixture within the town’s Chamber of Commerce, Fall Festival Committee, and within our schools.

Nobody can predict with absolute certainty how anyone will vote on any particular issue. However, Joe Zullo’s track record of service to our town should reassure voters that he would always fight for our best interests. He is the best choice in the Feb. 26 election and I enthusiastically urge the voters of East Haven to send him to Hartford. Judy Sittnick
