Gustavo Martinez decided to get his real estate license because he was interested in investing in multifamily properties.
“In order to do that correctly, I needed to know the market. So what better way to learn?” Martinez said.
Prior to real estate, Martinez worked in a variety of service industries, including restaurant management, managing a union and insurance adjusting.
He believes that all of those experiences have shaped him into a patient and well-rounded person, which is very important in the real estate industry.
For Martinez, having his parents purchase their very first home in 2008 was an eye-opening experience for him.
“I witnessed first-hand how financial struggle can disrupt an otherwise extremely happy family,” he said. “While my past work experience has prepared me for being a Realtor, my past emotional experiences prepared me even more and I truly have people’s best interests in mind.”
He believes that having a positive mindset is everything and is firm in his conviction that he does not consider his job is to sell, but rather to solve a problem.
Through his affiliation with Ki Property Group, Martinez advises investors, provides property management support and detailed financial reports to determine if properties will be good investments. He also helps first-time home buyers and takes great pride in educating people in the process.
“Whether they are buying, selling or investing, it is very important for people to know what they are getting themselves into,” he said. “I take a little more time than most to get people ready for the process.”
Martinez is also fluent in Spanish, which has also made a great impact on his business. And while he has had many different jobs in many different industries, he found his true calling in real estate.
“This is the most fulfilled I’ve ever been in my life and there is no greater reward for me,” he said.
