Quinnipiac caps unbeaten season in MAAC play

Jen Fay matched a season high with 24 points and Brittany Martin added 18 as the two seniors combined to outscore Siena in a 67-38 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference win for the Quinnipiac women's basketball team on Saturday in Hamden.

Fay added a team-high 13 rebounds. The win completed the secondstra­ight unbeaten regular season in conference play for the Bobcats, who have now won 49 MAAC contests in a row. The Bobcats (23-6, 18-0) held the Saints to just one field goal in the entire first half and forced 17 Siena turnovers as Quinnipiac led wire-to-wire.

Paul Strautmane added 11 points, six rebounds and five blocks for the Bobcats.

Maddie Sims lked the Saints (12-17, 8-10) with 12 points and five rebounds.

Yale 67, Columbia 54: Camilla Emsbo had points and eight rebounds and Alex Cade added 10 points and eight rebounds to lead the Bulldogs to an Ivy League win in New York.

Alexandra Maund came off the bench to add 14 points and six rebounds for the Bulldogs (16-11, 6-6). Sienna Durr led Columbia (8-17, 4-8) with 17 points and seven rebounds.

Quinnipiac 16, NJIT 14: Sophomore attack Jake Tomsik tied a singlegame school record with eight goals, powering the Bobcats to a win in Newark, New Jersey.

Tomsik’s eight goals matched the Bobcats' single-game high set by Erik Anderson against Siena on April 10, 1999. Nick DiMuccio had 11 saves for the Bobcats (1-3). Aaron Forster had nine goals and two assists for NJIT (0-5).
