Cornell, Clarkson, Minnesota and Wisconsin will compete for the national title at People’s United Center on March 22 and 24.

Defending champion Clarkson, which also won the national title the last time the Women’s Frozen Four was held in Hamden, also needed overtime before Elizabeth Giguere’s goal pushed the Golden Knights to a 2-1 victory over Boston College.

Boston College’s Daryl Watts scored in the first period with Greenwich’s Serena Sommerfield getting the assist before Josaine Pozzebon’s goal with 3:03 remaining in the third period sent the game into overtime. Kassidy Sauve made 35 saves including six in overtime for Clarkson.

No overtime was needed for Minnesota as Sarah Potomak had two goals and two assists in a 5-2 win over Princeton. Sarah Fillier had both goals for Princeton.

Top-seeded Wisconsin also had a dominant performance to punch its ticket as Annie Pankowski had two goals in a 4-0 win over Syracuse. Kristen Campbell only needed to make 15 saves to record the shutout.
