Area charity golf tournaments

West Haven Football Golf Tournament, in memory of Tinker Blake at Alling Memorial Golf course. Registration is at 7 a.m., shotgun start at 8 a.m. The $150 entry fee includes: round of golf, hot dog and beverage, dinner after, giveaways, prizes and raffles. Webster Hose H & L Vol. Co. #3 (Ansonia) will be hosting its 16th annual tournament at Whitney Farms Golf Club. Registration starts at 7:45 a.m. Entry fee is $130 and includes coffee/donuts, golf and cart, beverages, hole-in-one and skill contests and a luncheon at the AM Club (Derby) with open bar, raffle and awards. The Rotary Club of East Haven, which is now celebrating its 80th anniversary, will host its 11th annual benefit golf tournament, The Pasquale “Pat” Romano Memorial, in memory of Rotarian Romano, at the Alling Memorial. Continental breakfast at 8 a.m. and a 9 a.m. starting time. Included with the $100 entry fee are 18 holes of golf (including cart) and a full buffet dinner, which includes hot & cold appetizers with three entrees at Seasons (formerly Country House). Nominal prizes will be awarded and a 50/50 raffle will be held. Tee Sponsorships are available at $ 100 per and may be reserved along with places in the tournament by contacting Frank Gentilesco, Jr. at 203-627-0602. Proceeds from the event will be used by the club for scholarships and other free events offered to the community. East Haven Rotary Club, Inc. is a 501c3 corporation.
