ARealtor since 2003, Sally Bowman grew up in a large family that worked in the plumbing and heating business and owned a hardware store, a background that went hand-in-hand with real estate.

“There was always conversation about houses at the dinner table,” Bowman said. “I could not have had better training for my career than working in a hardware store. I always joke that I sold all the parts that go into a house, now I sell houses.”

Bowman’s family owned R.W. Hine ACE Hardware in Cheshire where she worked through high school and college and loved the challenge of solving customers’ household problems.

That retail background is where she developed her “Stew Leonard” mentality of “the customer is always right.” Bowman does her best to always take care of the customer and go the extra mile.

“Combining my experience at the hardware store, my dad being a plumber and my collective bits of knowledge about different facets of a house, gives me many advantages. I try my best to bring this knowledge to my clients while always being helpful and brutally honest.”

Bowman ran her own real estate company for 8 years, then formed the Sally Bowman Group with Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices when they acquired her company in 2017.

A self-confessed “news junkie”, she follows as many articles, webinars and podcasts as possible to stay on top of industry trends and was the President of the Connecticut Chapter of Certified Residential Specialists. She is constantly monitoring

the market in Cheshire, her primary area of focus.

Bowman derives her greatest reward from taking care of people — helping families buy their first home, or helping couples downsize after raising their family. She also finds it incredibly rewarding to help elderly clients.

“It’s not easy to sell the family homestead, but I feel honored to be trusted to help walk them into the next chapter of their lives,” she said.

A firm believer in giving back, Bowman is very involved in the Cheshire community, sitting on various boards and raising money for local charities such as the Cheshire Community Food Pantry.
