David Michael D’Argento of Murrells Inlet South Carolina formerly of East Haven passed away peacefully on February 21, 2021 with his beloved wife Maryellen (Materessa) D’Argento by his side. David was born Oct. 10, 1942 in New Haven, CT, son of the late Robert and Anna (Bonitatibu­s) D’Argento. He is survived by his children, Gina and Cheryl D’Argento of Northford, Michelle Koncz of Ansonia and Dennis (Nicole) Corriveau of East Haven along with Five grandchild­ren, Michael Girardi of Northford, Adam Saldana and Jaxson DeCola of Ansonia, and Matthew and Avery Corriveau of East Haven. David also leaves his youngest sister Katherine D’Argento of East Haven. David was predecease­d by his parents, his brother Robert (Josephine) D’Argento and a sister Joanne (Dennis) Nolan. Prior to his retirement David was a Master Barber, owning Style & Trim for over 50 years during which he earned a special award from the late former mayor Henry Luzzi of East Haven. Dave loved being a barber, but he enjoyed the interactio­ns with his clients even more. While in South Carolina, Dave and Maryellen operated Journeys with Style, LLC, a travel agency where Dave was the President. If you needed advice (or not) Dave was there to oblige. He was a great listener and confidant which was one of the reasons he was so loved. Dave’s Passions ranged from being a hardcore NY Giants fan to an overly optimistic NY Mets enthusiast. David also enjoyed his bowling time. He played for the Four Horsemen of East Haven over 20 years and for the last six years finished his career playing with Second is for Losers of Myrtle Beach. Dave’s enormous and outgoing personalit­y will forever be his legacy with all who had come to know him.

Visiting hours will be Sunday evening March 7 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00PM in the Iovanne Funeral Home, Inc., 11 Wooster Pl., New Haven. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday morning at 10:00 in St. Michael Church, 29 Wooster Place in New Haven. Interment immediatel­y following at All Saints Cemetery Middletown Ave North Haven. Masks and social distancing are required for all services.
