Romeo C. Lieto, age 92, passed Friday, April 2,2021 at Connecticu­t Hospice after a brief illness.

Romeo was predecease­d by his wife of 51 years Frances DeBrizzi Lieto. Romeo was born in New Haven, Connecticu­t, April 22,1928 to the late Salvatore and Immaculata Proto Lieto. Romeo was a Navy veteran of World War II, and upon returning entered the heating and cooling profession where worked for A.R. Weber Co, for 25 years. He ended his career as a Supervisor In the Marketing Dept. for the Southern Connecticu­t Gas Company after 25 years of service. Romeo was an avid sportsman and fan of the New York Yankees, and also loved Foxwoods. He was also a member of the Disabled American Veterans, Chapter 2, New Haven.

He is survived by 2 sons: Robert Lieto and Romeo (Susan) Lieto and a daughter Marge Magliulo. He leaves 11 grandchild­ren, Dawn, Tracy, Megan, Paul, Robert, Dion, Nicholas, Marissa, Sara, Austin and Bruno. Romeo leaves 11 great-grandchild­ren and 2 great-great grandchild­ren. Besides his wife and parents Romeo was predecease­d by his sister Mae Riccio; brothers, Benedetto Beato, Joseph, Nicholas, and Salvatore Lieto; his son in law Gary Magliulo and grandson Micheal Lieto.

The Celentano Funeral Home, New Haven, is arranging private funeral services for Mr. Lieto where he will be interred next to his wife Frances. Memorial contributi­ons may be made to the Disabled American Veterans Department of Connecticu­t 80 Hall Avenue, Suite 801 Meriden, CT 06450.
