Arlene Francis Cohen Leshine, 89, died on May 14, 2021 at Evergreen Woods Health Center. She was born in New Haven on January 8, 1932. She was predecease­d by her parents, Abraham and Rose (Sall) Cohen, her husband, Zelman, and her brother, William. She is survived by her children, Paula (Ira), Eric (Deborah) and Martha, her grandchild­ren, Zoe, Hannah, Roxanne and Margo, as well as her loving companion, Carl Yohans. Arlene resided in Northford, but spent the majority of her adult life living in Branford where she raised her family. She loved to travel, taking many adult education trips around the world. Sarasota was her favorite place to escape from the Connecticu­t winters. Bridge became her passion in life and she excelled at it, becoming a Ruby Life Master. Even during COVID quarantine she overcame her resistance to using the computer and continued playing bridge online. She enjoyed reading, theater, going to symphony concerts, and watching the UCONN women’s basketball games. Arlene had an active social life with many friends. Funeral services will be private. The family would like to thank Dr. Capobianco and the entire staff of Evergreen Woods Health Center for the wonderful care they provided.
